About Us
The John T. Petters Foundation honors the short yet remarkable life of John Petters. John was a junior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio when he tragically lost his life traveling in Florence, Italy. John’s dream of helping deserving students to study abroad is made possible through the Foundation.
John T. Petters had an admirable desire to help people. His primary hope and vision was always to support a more educated generation by opening up their eyes to the world around them. The Foundation seeks to realize this vision by:
- Developing scholarships for students to enroll in highly regarded international study and volunteer programs so they might gain international experience that extends beyond traditional classroom academics
- Aligning with non-profit organizations to provide financial support to students who are in need and are affiliated with their programs to further their education
- Providing scholarships to gain international experience that extends beyond traditional classroom academics
